Councillor John Ross, the leader of South Lanarkshire Council, has opened the latest in a long line of successful new-build office developments delivered by Clyde Gateway.
 
Red Tree Magenta, a Grade A modern premises of 40,000 sq ft, has been built at a cost of £9m and is the first building at Magenta, a new 27-acre urban business park situated in Shawfield, next to the River Clyde and M74 motorway network.
 
It is home to 30 tenant companies, bringing 170 jobs to the area, with demand for the location so high that the building is already 100% let – years ahead of expectations. 
 
There is an impressive range of tenants within Red Tree Magenta, from solo new-start businesses right through to larger established companies, all of whom have recognised the growing demandfor flexible and collaborative workplaces and enhanced specification and services.
 
Councillor John Ross said “Clyde Gateway has a tremendous track record in bringing new jobs and opportunities to this particular part of South Lanarkshire.  It made perfect sense for our council to invest over £3m to support the plans to accelerate the construction of Red Tree Magenta and to play our part in delivering what is an eye-catching and hugely impressive building.
 
“I was delighted to be asked to perform the official opening ceremony and to be given the chance to hear of the high levels of satisfaction from all the occupiers.”
 

First office building on Magenta business park is fully let, years ahead of schedule

“In line with the current commercial property market, we had expected this building to reach 20 percent occupancy in the first year but to be fully let in the first six months is a true reflection of the fantastic accommodation, facilities, business support and transport links on offer here.” 
 
Among the facilities at Red Tree Magenta are a Nespresso café, superfast fibre connections, collaborative working and breakout spaces, a garden roof terrace and electric car charging points.
 
As well as more established, larger companies, including Robertson Facilities Management, BRE and Speirs Gumley, a number of growing smaller companies have flocked to this contemporary office space.
 
This includes up-and-coming Scottish business Raven Controls – an events monitoring digital technology business whose systems are used at golf’s Ryder Cup and athletics European Championships. They have recently secured investment funding and are growing their business and headcount accordingly.
